It’s not about slow or fast, instead its all about steady and staying the course. Granted steady is not glamourous or even “sexy”. The question to ask is – do you want to succeed via consistent gradual improvement or is being noticed because of a big flash the priority? You get to choose the one you want, and live with the outcome.
Steady is hard because it often doesn’t feel like anything is happening. We go from the summer to winter solstice over the course of six months. The gradual change takes place in small increments every day until we have minimal or no darkness, or little, to no light on the other extreme. (Depending on where you live of course.) Mother Nature is on the slow and steady plan and we deal with things accordingly.
Steady is putting one foot in front of the other and looking forward not backward. Steady is being OK with small improvements everyday. It’s about losing 1 lb every week that amounts to about fifty pounds in one year, or its reading two chapters a week and one book a month.
Drip, drip, drip… Look the pail is full!
Great things are done by a series of small things brought together. ~ Vincent Van Gogh
