Every year is made up of thousands of moments: decisions, conversations, and interactions that quietly shape who we become. Some are planned. Most are not. Yet each holds the potential to move us forward. The truth is, lasting impact rarely comes from dramatic change. It comes from the small, intentional actions we repeat with purpose.

That’s the essence of The Power of One.

As the year winds down and you gather with family, friends, and colleagues, I hope you pause and reflect, not only on what you’ve accomplished, but on the moments that mattered most. And those moments, often, come down to one small action that may appear insignificant at the time. It could be something as simple as:

  • A conversation that offered encouragement.
  • A decision that required courage.
  • A word of appreciation that reminded someone they matter.
  • A moment of transparency and vulnerability—being real!

That’s The Power of One! A reminder that meaningful impact is built one intentional choice at a time. If you want to review my newsletter on Power of One, click on this link.

This Season Reminds Us to Lead Differently

Christmas and the holiday season are a natural time to pause and connect with purpose, care, and compassion. It often involves some personal sacrifices that benefit others more than ourselves. It reminds us that leadership isn’t limited to our roles or titles; it’s expressed in how we show up, listen, and care.

When we act with kindness, attention, and presence, whether at home or at work, we strengthen the threads that hold our communities together. And that’s leadership at its most human form.

“You don’t have to change everything to change something. A small action, done with love and purpose, can create the biggest shifts.” ~ Ralph Kison

A Christmas Reflection

As you celebrate this season, step away from the rush and hustle, and take a quiet moment to reflect on:

  • One person you’re grateful for this year and tell them!
  • One act of kindness or encouragement you can offer someone before the year ends.
  • How you can carry that same spirit of generosity into the entire year ahead.

This Christmas, I encourage you to find time for stillness, gratitude, and reflection, and recall one small act of kindness you’ve received this year, and let it wrap itself around you like a warm blanket, and savor the moment and memory. Then think of how you can go and do the same for someone and offer the greatest gift of all: your presence!

Wishing you and those you care about a season filled with peace, meaning, and joy.
