While holiday cheer fills the air and Christmas music plays in the background, we’re all trying to balance our workload with our social calendar. It’s a festive and busy time to be certain but it’s also the time to focus on finishing the year strong and planning for the opportunities ahead in 2016.
Here’s a few suggestions to help boost your productivity before the New Year arrives.
Get those proposals out the door. Between RSVP’ing to parties and eating gingerbread cookies, map out your projects and organize the work that needs to get off your desk. Carve out time to get these important tasks done. Remember, this year’s proposal are next year’s assignments and help fill the project pipeline.

  • Send those emails / Follow-up. You might be asking yourself, who checks their email on a holiday? According to a recent study by Yesware Inc., just about everyone. Their analysis of over 23 million sales emails over the past year, showed that email open rates on holidays (especially federal holidays) are similar to any other Monday.

  • Use office downtime for cleaning, organizing and planning ahead. While your coworkers are on the road, you can have a calm quiet office environment to get those important tasks done. Put on your jeans and comfortable sweater and create a review, cull and clean day at the office, your workstation or computer.

While all of this productivity boosting is great, take a moment this holiday season to enjoy some friends and family time. Be intentional. In between sips of eggnog, you can have the peace of mind knowing that this boost in productivity can help make 2016 the best year yet.
